A basic understanding of human resource management is one of the most valuable skills in a supervisor’s tool kit. Supervisors must be able to give and receive feedback, manage conflict, and implement performance action plans. They may be tasked with talent acquisition, onboarding, and training and supporting a diverse workforce. HR knowledge and skills ensure compliance with state and federal laws and help create a positive and inclusive workplace. This course includes both weekly class meetings on Zoom and asynchronous instruction using the Canvas Learning Management System.

This is one of three courses that comprise the Supervision Certificate at AVÌìÌÃ. Courses can be taken in any order.
